Hello from the newbie

Hey everyone, I'm Angela from Oregon. Admin Carissa steered me to this excellent group (Heidi-ho Carissa!) I'm a psychologist by day and skull obsessed by night.

My latest FO is a felted bag from She-Knits called the Melly Bag.

Melly Bag

The pattern was originally done in browns and beiges, but both brown and beige go against everything I believe in. Much better in the black and red I think.

As far as the KAL nominations, I think I'm all for the Biker Boy sweater. Then again, I was with Carissa at the Debbie Stoller book signing, so seeing it in person has made me way too excited to do it (which may not be a good thing since I've never knit a sweater before). Someone talk me out of it ;)

You Spin Me.

i just finished the RPM socks from knitty.com. I used all the methods I've never tried before, to make it more exciting (i.e. short-row heel, and the pointed toe). I ended up frogging the heel like, 7 times, but in the long run it was totally worth it.

i actually had enough yarn to make the a lil' longer but i was afraid of coming up short.

My First Sweater!

seamless raglan FO

SQUEEEE!!!!! I'm so proud of the new addition to my wardrobe <3333

Pattern Particulars

Pattern Source: Seamless Raglan from Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmermann

Needles: Clover Takumi 32" Circulars US sz. 8, Addi Natura 16" circulars US sz. 8

Materials: 5 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted Merino in Lettuce (from Misocrafty's de-stash) and one in Glazed Carrot (from Webs).

Time: I didn't actually time this project but I did start it in June.

Loved: the ease of the pattern and the perfect fit. Because EZ pretty much forces you to pay attention to the gauge, you shouldn't expect anything less.

Hated: nothing. I want to knit like, 300 sweaters now.

Baby Raglan Sweater

I finished up the cutest baby raglan sweater earlier this week, if I do say so myself! Here it is as a work-in-progress being modeled by Animal, perhaps arguably the most punk of all the muppets!

Come by the blog for all the knitty-gritty details.

Happy Friday everyone!

Knucks!

I finally got around to knitting up some Knucks for a friend of mine. The embroidery was a lot harder than to do than I thought it would be, but I think they turned out a-okay.

These were done in Rowan Felted Tweed - has anyone else used this yarn? I had some issues with it tearing on me. I didn't know if maybe I was just hard on it or if that was a common complaint.

More info on the bloggy.

Armwarmer turned Koozie

My latest finished project was supposed to be either tank girl or my armwarmers. Well the armwarmers I started & I ended up not liking so instead of frogging I turned it into a koozie!!! Calico berrocco koozie! LOL

Green Gable

Hi All!

I'm so excited to be sharing an actual, real-life, finished project with everyone! I've actually been done for a couple of weeks, but I've just now had time to take the pictures and get them off of my camera. So, here it is, Green Gable from Zephyr Style, made with Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Provincial Pink. (Sidenote - is it just me or does provincial pink sound kinda old-ladyish?)
I've included more details and a couple more pictures over at my blog if you're interested. I'm eager to get started on my next project - knucks in a NIN theme for a friend! I can't resist the handwarmer trend that's been going on over here!
