Lucy Dolittle Scarf

This is a ruffled scarf that I made up using Dark Horse Fantasy. It has a nice increase that has only four rows of increases.

It's easy to make and comes out with a neat effect.

The nice thing about this scarf is that it has four rows of yarn at it's heart. This makes it strong enough to drag someone across the floor. Test number one for a clown scarf.

Contest Time!

I"m running a contest on my personal blog, RedStickKnits. Check it out. You won't be sorry.

Finally started

I finally found the time to start my Buccaneer's Booty Socks, since I took the pic I finished sock #1. As I don't like heel flaps, I knit a short row heel without the 2 rounds in between so I could add a contrasting heel. The yarn is handdyed by me, the black one are overdyed leftovers.

Did anyone else start to knit the socks, or am I the only one?

Dracula Socks

My newest creation: Dracula Socks! Yes, they are in boring stockinette, but there is a reason for this - this amazing yarn! It looks so cool that there was no point in putting a pattern over it. It is Cheeky Monkey Sock Yarn from H.L. Miller at Etsy in the colorway "Bela Lugoisi's Dead." Soft smooshy yarn and and a gothy colorway. I'm in love...and yes, those are supposed to look like blood splatters.

Top Down Raglan with Bulky Yarn and PATTERN!

I designed this sweater after getting frustrated by the vagueness of Twinkle Patterns
Photobucket
I used size 15 needles and Wool-Ease Thick and Quick, about 2.3 skeins. (So A very cheap, fast and easy knit)

Photobucket

Pattern on blog, if you'd like to make one too.

What I've been making

I haven't been posting many knitting pics lately since none of them seem too punk rock. I do have some new drop spindles that I've made that I think you guys might enjoy.

Behold!

I think the zebra one is my personal favorite. The red and black one has Kanji (Japanese writing) around the edge with the symbols for wool, sheep, yarn and spinning/making yarn. I've also opened a shop on etsy so if you like my funky spindles, please come check them out at:

http://www.carissamarie.etsy.com

Despite it's non-punk rock nature, I suppose I'll throw up a picture of my latest knitting (we are a knitting blog after all)...

It's the Circular Shrug by Julia Allen with a fat cable (which I designed myself...I'm so proud of me!) in my hand dyed worsted. You can see it on Ravelry here.

YAR! Beanie Hat from the ANTICRAFT Crafter's Book

I made mine in Angora. It's double knit and took forever, but I really like that it's reversible.

that sweater is fab ... and welcome newbies!

Hey there, we must all be busy knitting as it has been pretty quiet lately. Maybe we are all enjoying the strange weather we all seem to be getting ... no matter where we are located it seems to be out of the norm!

I wanted to say hello to all the newbies as i have been lacking in that.

I also need to go hunt down that fabulous skeleton animal sweater! Not a want , but a need! Too cute! (does it say something for our personalities when we find skellies on sweaters "cute" ? Happy Knittin!
