Buttercup Turtleneck Shrug

I finally have a finished project to share. It's my first of 2007! I have finished the Buttercup Turtleneck Shrug. The pattern is by Teva Durham and from the book, Scarf Style. It's suprisingly comfortable to wear over a t-shirt. The shrug is very stretchy and one size will fit most, I would say. I am not a thin woman...

Specs on the shrug: I used 4 skeins of LB Wool Ease in the color, Buttercup. I had to shorten the sleeve length by two inches, from what the pattern called for. Otherwise, I followed the pattern to the letter. I used Denise Interchangeable needles (for the first time) and had no issue at all with using them. I found the circular needle easier to work with, rather than dpn's.

I would recommend this pattern to anyone who has not made a sweater yet, due to lack of attention span on finishing a full sweater. It's quicker and really easy to follow the pattern instructions. I love this shrug!

That's fantastic! Usually I'm not crazy about yellow, but it looks great there.

Okay, I normally can't stand turtlenecks, but this looks like it wouldn't sufficate anyone. I like it, the colour, the way it fits, etc. Great job.
I also now know that you got my share when God handed out boobs; geesh. Well at least I've solved that mystery, lol.
PS-I'm 1/2 done the scarf & still lovin it.

Hahaha...I am well endowed. It's genetics from my German Mother. LOL! I was nicknamed "Z-28" in Jr. High, by the boys. (which is a dorky reference to the bra size)Boys are retards. Sorry! LMAO!

Actually, I am not a huge fan of turtlenecks, either. I don't normally like things on my neck. BUT this shrug is very loose fitting because the ribbing is so big. (3 x 3 ribs) It stretches unbelievably. I love this shug. I have worn it ALL day. LOL!

My Grandma (also German) was a 44DDD. I obviously never inherited that gene, lol.

Seriously, going to have to try that pattern though. What was the rest of the book like??

The rest of the book is nice too. There are a handful of scarves I want to make in the book. Plus it also has a few crochet patterns, shawls and ideas on making your own scarf creation. The book is great and well done. :-)

I'm not a fan of turtlenecks either, but that shrug looks great! I've been hearing great things about scarf style and I need to get off my butt and get me one. I will eventually. Great job!
