First Sock Ever

It's really simple, but I really couldn't see myself doing it. My mother helped me the whole time, and I can't believe I did it...now for the other one.

Socks That Rock Over Cable

Socks that Rocks lightweight from Blue Moon Fiberarts. Färg; Corbie. 100 &% superwash merino.
And the pattern: Yarn Over Cable, from the book Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch.

Yepp, this is my first completed pair of toe-up and I love them! And If I keep them as "bedsocks" I will have some yarn left..
…exactly 53 gram left after the socks done, will it be enough for a pair of

You Spin Me.

i just finished the RPM socks from knitty.com. I used all the methods I've never tried before, to make it more exciting (i.e. short-row heel, and the pointed toe). I ended up frogging the heel like, 7 times, but in the long run it was totally worth it.

i actually had enough yarn to make the a lil' longer but i was afraid of coming up short.

Pattern Particulars

Pattern Source:
RPM Socks by Aija Goto via Knitty.com
Needles: Addi Turbo US size 1 32" circular (Magic Looped)
Materials: 1 Skein STR lightweight in Lemongrass.
Time: alot, i started them the first time in May and frogged a lot of times.
Loved: the pattern!!!!! mindless repeats=watching subtitles.
Hated: the short row heel, i don't ever want to do one again.

My, are those runs in your socks?

I've been busy, busy it seems! I found this awesome pattern called Bellatrix from Socktopia on my searches through Ravelry. It's a drop stitch pattern, and it leaves what appear to be runs in your socks! For those who don't know, Bellatrix is a crazy dark witch from the Harry Potter series, also, it is a star in the Orion constellation. I have one mostly finished, I need to rip out the toe and make it longer though. I swear, I'm doing toe up socks next pair I make...
Well, I just find it to be a pretty punk/goth pattern and thought I'd share!

Monkey socks

Hi! I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy knitting away. I made the monkey socks from knitty cuz everyone else was. I really like the way they came out even though I didn't like knitting them. But the pattern looked so cool I had to finish.

There has been knitting

Life has gotten so in the way lately, that I've barely had time to keep up with the daily blog and not much else. I do have knitting to share though.

There is a sock there, ontop of the laptop. I found a couple of balls of Koigu (yay) and am working on a pair of socks from them. That stuff is totally yummy.

My first sock!

I made my first sock!! It is the Yarn Harlots , she was on Knitty gritty and this is her "recipe" for making socks. I used lion brands Magic stripes. I happened to find 2 leftover skeins of it at acmoore. They don't carry it anymore. It seemed like a good way to try my first sock. Now I need to get out my Knitpicks catalog and order some good sock yarn.

Pink Socks

I must be on a finishing roll this week. I have finally finished the pink socks that have been sitting in my unfinished knits basket for close to a month. I have a bad habit of not making the second item. Socks are the worst. I did it though. I am quite happy with them. I love the colors too.
Have a great weekend...I am watching a Back To The Future trilogy marathon on TV. It makes for good knitting time. Toodles.

Hooray for Yarn!

Suzanne2Okay, I'm so in love with this yarn that I had to share. It's just so beautiful to me. Unfortunately, the colorway is discontinued. I can't make up my mind on what to do with it. Should I knit Monkey from Knitty? Or this pattern? Or maybe I should just sleep with it under my pillow....

Pink Striped Socks

I am having digital camera issues. My battery is dying a slow death. It cost me over $50 when I bought the battery, three years ago. So, my pictures may be sporadic, until further notice.

I did manage to snap a photo of the Pink Striped Socks. The socks are more like slipper socks, thick and comfy. I haven't thought of a more interesting name yet, and I have not typed out the pattern yet, either. I will get to it soon. They look small, but are stretchy. They fit my foot and I wear a size 9 shoe. Hmmm...?

Specs on the socks:
I used 2 skeins of Wool Ease. One in Dark Rose Heather and one in Blush Heather. The needles I used are US # 4 dpn's, for the socks. I self-striped the entire sock...a pain in the butt. The heel is knit in stockinette too, rather than the normal Slip 1, K1. I have to mix thing up every now and again.

Have a great Thursday! Hugs and Happy knitting!

Finished Socks

I have finished the gift socks, finally. I completed them during last night's episode of Grey's Anatomy. Whew! I finished them with enough time to send them in the mail, to the recipient. I hope HE will like them. I, personally, love these socks. They are soft and love the colors.

I used a basic socks pattern. The one I used for most knit socks...with adjustments to size, etc. I used US # 4 dpn's throughout. My Punk Rock Gift Exchange pal sent me the socks yarn, which is 100% wool.

I will be making another pair of socks in a pink-ish colorway, probably after the holidays. I have too much to knit at the moment to begin those socks. EEEEK! I also have sewing to do, as well. I have to make my daughter a long skirt for her school's Winter Musical program. I am making it this weekend.

I hope everyone is well and have a great weekend! HUGS!

Ankle Socks Rock!

I made these little beauties out of some Lorna's Laces yarn I bought on sale at KnitPixie. They are so soft! and best of all--machine washable!
Pattern: basic sock pattern *tweeked*
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted in Gold Hill; 1 skein
Needles: size 4 dpn's (5 of 'em)
I love making socks in w.w. yarn. They go faster and in the chilly/cold weather they are much warmer. Yippie~~

Some Knitting...Has Been Done

I hope that everyone has had a lovely thanksgiving and holiday weekend. Mine was good and positively lazy. I have knitted quite a bit. Although, not on the projects that I should be working on and finishing. Tsk tsk on me.

I made this one sock with some yarn that my secret pal sent to me. I have yet to cast on for the second sock. I will most likely do that later this evening.

I still have a bunch of ongoing knitting projects that I should work on to get them out of the way. I have to make two second socks and two sweaters to finish. EEEK! I had better break out the needles.

Well, tomorrow is Monday and it's back to reality. No more sleeping in, eating leftover and watching movies while knitting. *sigh* Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there is snow in our forecast soon. I keep saying it's too early for snow...Have a great day!
