Punky crafty

This is a bracelet I made recently out of wire and chunky acrylic beads. It's not knit (I tried to knit it but the wire was too stiff) but love it:

Chain Mail Scarf

I knit a scarf out of a slubby Italian metallic charcoal yarn called Valentino for a tattoo artist friend. It looks like chain mail.

A hat for my cute friend Jim. I should have made him the Yoda hat below. That rocks!

Ipod Shuffle Cozy

Hello All! I'm Plain Jane Parker and I'm new to the blog. I thought I would share my latest creation just in case anyone found it pointless to try to find a pattern for this online.

Well, the three oldest of our girls are getting Ipod shuffles for christmas this year. Since the little protective sleeves for them are so expensive I decided to knit them cozies instead. First I looked on the net for a pattern, but no one had a pattern for ipod cozies for the shuffle, only the larger and more expensive ones. So I created one myself. It can be knit in the round on 4 size 2 US dpns or back and forth on size 2 straights. I used red heart super saver yarns in varigated colors, but any worsted weight will do.

On Straights
Cast on 24 sts. work k2, p2 rib for 3.5-4 inches..depending on your preference.
Bind off

fold in half and sew side seams.

Next...cast on two stitches work in st st until 2 inches.

Bind off.

Sew to top of cozy as loop for button.

Cast on 2 stitches. Work in st st until 5 inches, more if preferred.

Bind off.

Sew onto cozy....Add Button of your choice and weave in ends...enjoy!

To make in the round cast on 48 stitches instead of 24. Work in k2, p2 rib until 2 inches....Cast off.

Sew bottom seam.

Make up the rest of the way the same as for the straight needles.

Here's a picture of one of mine for reference. I hope you all enjoy and Happy Holidays!

my yoda

Here's my little jedi in training

I added earflaps to the hat. I felted the ears separate and then stitched them on so that I can remove them if I so choose.

Here's the Yoda sweater as well.

Fingerless Gloves: The Key to Rawking in a Warm Manner

I wear these all the time because I need warm hands, but I also need to play guitar.
I've been crankin' em out in all different colors and putting them on my Etsy page. But I keep some for myself too.

Well, I just finished knitting these Jaywalker socks by Grumperina with the yarn that I won from the Punk Rock Gift Exchange. I loved the colors, there were so many that I tried to pick a simple pattern that wouldn't take away from the colors!!!

Why my Sister Rocks

A Berroco Pattern. I'm pretty sure the link's on her blog. I got the yarn too, in a very Birthday Massacre purple and black colorway, and was just going to make a fuzzy scarf, but she was the one that dug up this great pattern. He's so squishy and has a little belly ... he's so cuddly.

Has anyone ever heard of the site Threadbangers? It seems to be a DIY (rock oriented?) site with a forum, blog, and series of instructional online videos.
Here are some of the things I liked...
Dimebag Darrell stencil

Too bright for me, but so cute - made from those rainbow bed sheets that were so popular in the early 80s

Skeleton Bag

Lots of great ideas on there, even if there's not enough fiber arts.
