Knitting For War

Hello Peoples, I am checking in with my new project. i am writing a book for charity knitting groups called Knitting for War. The war by the way is on suffering and cold fingers.

Anyway I am look for original patterns for hats, scarves, mittens ans sweaters. The book is a fund raiser for our Humor Therapy Clown Troop. Much like a women's club writing a cook book. Except we have men and we are clown and it is knitting and not cooking. Other than that it is just the same.

There is a Ravelry group where I am testing parts of the book.

Be safe out there and keep your stick on the ice. And Happy Halloween

Question/Poll....nov 1st almost here so...

who has made their xmas knit list, who has started, how "evil" is it and what are you knitting?

For me: I have already knit a hat/scarf from the Knit1 mag for daughters best friend...she is like my second daughter.
hat for daughters boyfriend.
Afghan for mom.
socks for MIL. (or a lace type scarf)
That may just do it!

Help..need a guys hat pattern..ideas?

Ok, my daughters 15 year old boyfriend. I am looking for a cool yet "easy/lol..no cables" hat for him. I want to knit him a hat, he is a sweetie. Down to earth, I was thinking of using a blacker based Nori yarn but not sure what pattern to use. Any ideas from you Pro's??!! Thanks....off to sneak another peanut butter cup, extra time working out tomorrow!

Pumpkin Pouch treat bag

Just a very quick knit for trick or treating, since my two year old doesn't go out to get huge amounts of candy... and I can't stand those plastic pumpkin pails... I made her this pouch...

I think she will get one that looks like an ornament for christmas... instead of the stockings everyone else will get.

"I'm dancing like a monkey!"

If there are any fans of Invader Zim here you'll love this pattern I came across for a knitted Gir doll. I plan to make one in the near future after I'm caught up on making baby gifts!

My, are those runs in your socks?

I've been busy, busy it seems! I found this awesome pattern called Bellatrix from Socktopia on my searches through Ravelry. It's a drop stitch pattern, and it leaves what appear to be runs in your socks! For those who don't know, Bellatrix is a crazy dark witch from the Harry Potter series, also, it is a star in the Orion constellation. I have one mostly finished, I need to rip out the toe and make it longer though. I swear, I'm doing toe up socks next pair I make...
Well, I just find it to be a pretty punk/goth pattern and thought I'd share!

Yummy purse of cables!

My new purse!

School might be keeping me busy, but apparently I have learnt to knit faster, muahaha! Also it is rather fun to knit in class. So my last project was a cabled purse in a raspberry colour. Very pleased with it, even though the pattern was a little difficult to follow because of poor wording. Too bad the photo is a bit fuzzy. I've been lazy and just using my webcam for photos lately.

Oh, you can see a hint of the purple in my hair too, peaking through the bottom just a tad.

My version of Juju

I know this guy has been posted before but here he is anyway. I made him for my hair dresser and she LOVED it. I have requests for eight more at this point! Bad Juju from Anitcraft:

I altered the embroidery b/c it was my first time and I was bad at it.

Lambs Pride Sweater finally finished!

I finally finished my lambs pride sweater!
My first shot at designing a sweater, using the top down raglan style. I aimed for the neck to be sort of square, so that worked out pretty well.
more pics on the blog, but I'd love your feedback for next time.

thanks for looking!

Hello, I am Newb

Hello, I am Jen, Newb

First off I loom I am not too talented with needles but I do rock the loom. I have been pretty darn busy lately so I only have managed a pup sweater for my new pomchi Sarge.

Here it is.

Hi!

Hi! I'm new to both this blog and knitting. I've made a few things though I have to admit that none of them have been terribly punk rock. three cheers for scarfs and cat toys right? I came here for ideas and patterns that I'd actually wear. *waves*

Jess Hutch Bunny done!

If a lime green stuffed bunny isn't punk rock, i don't know what is!

I made it from this pattern using the recommended lambs pride, but instead of 8's i used 7's. The pattern is very straight forward, and the shaping turns out really nicely. Even the seaming was easy, and i despise seaming with every fiber within me.

more pics on the blog, thanks for looking!

Need some advice...sock knitters/shoppers!

Ok, I was approached by someone today about knitting 5 pair of average sized socks for them to give as gifts. It would be using a wool yarn i hand dyed (both fair isle designs and watercolor). having never charged someone for hand knit/dyed socks....what would you do? If i do this what the heck do i charge per pair? She herself is a painter/artist so she does understand craftsmanship...but...??? (lol, this is why i knit for family!) I like her but she is someone who comes into the salon, i do not know her outside of there. Thanks for the input! oh...did i mention she wants them in a month, and i head to vegas in a week and a half for a week? (this so is not going to work!)

I don't know if they are punks, but these cuties rock!

Sorry Guys.

Listening to: Complete Control by The Clash

Hey, it's your Admin, Kaity. I've been a bit sparce around here lately, because my internet connection at my house is, in one word, sucky. I think my brother said we needed a new Router or Modem or something... Anyway, If you email me or anything, I apologize if it takes me a while to get back to you, I'm doing the best with what I've got!

Rock (and knit) on!

Anyone interested in a KAL?

I just found this awesome sweater called "the Deep V Argyle Vest" from See Eunny Knit! The pattern can be downloaded here.

I think it looks great, is sexy and has kind of a punk edge to it. I nominated it for the next KAL over at the Sexy Knitter's club but it lost (to patterns that only fit if you're no larger than a small....ask me what I think about that). Anyway, I think I'm going to knit this anyway but was wondering if there might be sufficient interest in others to start a KAL for it?

If anyone else is interested, say so in the comments. Thanks!

Knitting for Karma

Hey all.
My sister and I are trying to collect items for a pregnant girl we know. She's got no family support OR help from the child's father, and NOTHING for this baby.
So, if you've got any used baby items you could donate or feel up to some charity knitting, please let me know!
You can email me at tylerstar52[at]hotmail[dot]com.

For the record, this baby will be born in January, and is of currently undetermined sex. It is expected to be a rather small baby too. And she has nothing, really. Bibs, hats, socks, sweaters, onesies, washcloths, anything goes. ANYTHING would be appreciated.

Thanks!
