Keltic cap

This is a pattern I found in the Winter 2006 Vogue Knitting magazine that's a Houndstooth Cap pattern. I've been meaning to do it for a while until I finally had the time. Since I had to destash, instead of using the colors that the pattern called for, I used some yarn from my stash. Below are different angle shots of the outcome:

Yarn: 1 skein of Berroco Keltic in Dublin

Needles: size 10 16"circulars and size 10 dpn

Other material: I cut an old baseball cap for the plastic to sew in the visor.**

**Note: You may want to have strong and sharp scissors to cut the plastic because it was thick and a real pain. Other thinner/softer plastics might do, such as a water jug or an unused DVD case if the size is appropriate.

This is the outcome that the original pattern is written for:

How cute is it? How can you resist a hat like that? What I did was that I just didn't change colors when the pattern called for it. I did it straight through with the same yarn. I posted this on my blog if anyone wants to check it out. I haven't posted the pattern yet, but will in the future.

That is fantastic--I love the Keltic yarn, the blending of colors is awesome. Can't believe it took just 1 skein! Way to go.
